In our family, everything revolves around the sea. It is our source, and here our delicious and nutritious shellfish are grown and harvested. Our great-grandfather, Pieter Verwijs, began cultivating oysters in 1880. For as long as we can remember, we have lived with and from the sea. We are proud to continue his legacy with Premier. Every day, we ensure that our customers around the world can enjoy a full range of fresh Premier fish, shellfish, and sea vegetables. From flavorful mussels, shellfish, and crustaceans to the most premium oysters on the market. We select only the very best! Through our active role in the entire production chain, from source to plate, we are able to maintain our excellent quality and deliver the freshest products.

Our innovation team continuously provides the market with new and inspiring possibilities. We make no compromises at the expense of the environment. Our mission is to leave the sea better and healthier for future generations.

We do this together with our Seafarmers. They are located all around the world. We see them as part of the family and know them personally. Together, we believe in the same sustainable future that the sea can offer, and we are on the path to reducing our ecological footprint to a minimum. Some of our Premier products are inherently sustainable and naturally help filter the sea. In the areas where we plant and harvest our mussels and oysters, we see ecosystems thrive once again.

We encourage new and existing customers to confidently discover innovative ways to prepare our products and experience their own Premier Moments all year round. This way, everyone, of all ages, can enjoy the delights from our sea.

Kees believes that you should start growing mussels at a young age. "You really need to learn how it works with Mother Nature," says Kees. He is the fifth generation of the Van Damme family, who grow their mussels in the Oosterschelde.

Vincent is the fifth generation in his family’s farming tradition. The farming gene runs in his blood, resulting in outstanding products. Vincent's oysters are harvested from the bed of the Oosterschelde and the Grevelingenmeer.

The Buitjes, Rispens, van Straten, and Bolt families have a long history in shrimp fishing. They dream of leaving a legacy for their children and grandchildren, where they too can continue to harvest sustainably from a fertile sea and develop flavorful food with passion.


Together with the Holmyard family, we cultivate sustainable and organic mussels on our self-sufficient sea farm, where they are raised hanging in the water. This method ensures that the mussels are not accustomed to a hard bottom, which is why they require a gentle approach. The Holmyard family's sea farm is also the first to be certified with the BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) certificate, underscoring our commitment to sustainability and quality.
