What is Nutri-Score?

The government has developed the Nutri-Score food choice logo. This logo provides information about the composition of a product on a scale from A to E.

It's a way to compare products within the same category.

The score is based on the composition of the product. The amount of protein and fiber are positive components. The amount of energy, saturated fat, sugar, and salt are components that have a negative impact on the product.

Our products come from the salty sea, which means that their salt content is relatively high. Fortunately, they are also incredibly rich in proteins and healthy fats. Below, you will find our products categorized by Nutri-Score with a brief explanation. Want to learn more? Contact us via the contact form.

  • Kibbeling is incredibly rich in protein and, with our new recipe, also lower in salt. Compared to other fried products, our kibbeling is lower in fat and salt, and higher in protein.
  • Our lekkerbek also receives a good Nutri-Score. Compared to other fried products, it is rich in protein and contains less fat and salt.

North Sea shrimp are classified under Nutri-Score C. They likely received this score because shrimp from the North Sea are slightly saltier than shellfish from other regions.

  • Herring is a naturally fatty fish. Due to its high fat content, it receives a Nutri-Score of D. The Nutrition Center recommends making fatty fish a part of your diet.
  • Our mackerel is also naturally a fatty fish. In a balanced diet based on EAT-Lancet guidelines, both mackerel and herring are healthy additions.

Aguachile resembles tiger's milk but is slightly different. The concept is similar, with the fish cooking in the aguachile. To avoid overpowering the dish, we used less aguachile. The oyster remains uncooked and is eaten raw!

Roquefort is often referred to as the king of blue cheeses. The sharp flavor of Roquefort is softened by the briny mussels. Mussels with Roquefort sauce is a classic French dish, and it remains a delight no matter how often you enjoy it!
