As Second Skipper on the SO977, you act as the skipper’s deputy within our mussel farming fleet operating in Irish waters. You are a competent seafarer with strong ambition at the start of your maritime career in Ireland.
You play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient vessel operations and overall onboard performance. You support the skipper in daily operations and are motivated to grow into a full Skipper role within a growing aquaculture company. You are practically minded and enjoy working alongside the crew. You see opportunities for the future and are eager to develop your career within the company.
As Second Skipper, you act as deputy to the skipper and take command when required. You are responsible for safe navigation and watchkeeping. You assist in planning and executing mussel farming and harvesting operations.
You supervise and support the deck crew and ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards. You play a key role in safe and efficient vessel operations and overall onboard performance, while supporting the skipper in daily activities and working towards progression into a full Skipper position.
