Our brown shrimp are caught in the North Sea, where they thrive in the cool, flowing waters. To ensure the freshness of our products, the shrimp are cooked on board immediately after being caught. Once the boat docks in Lauwersoog, the shrimp are mechanically peeled and packed.
By processing the shrimp locally, we significantly reduce the need for preservatives and salt. The short travel distance also reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90%.
Because of this short journey, we call our shrimp: "The Stay at Home Club"
The Buitjes, Rispens, van Straten, and Bolt families have been shrimp fishing for nearly 400 years. They are dedicated to passing on the tradition of shrimp fishing to their children and grandchildren. To achieve this, they have combined their strengths and life mottos, committing fully to bringing sustainable products to the market. This way, they and their future generations can continue to harvest from a bountiful sea.
These are our hand-peeled shrimp from the North Sea. These shrimp are distinguished by their salty flavor.
The unpeeled grey shrimp is perfect for snacking. A small bowl of shrimp, some fresh lemon mayonnaise, and a hand wipe are all you need. The biggest challenge, of course, is getting the tail off the head with a single twist.
